MAKING PAPER CRANES: IN MEMORY OF SADAKO SASAKI
A young girl named Sadako Sasaki died as a result of leukemia caused by the Hiroshima bombing. Sadako’s determination to fold one thousand paper cranes, symbolizing her hope for peace, inspired her classmates and many from around the world ever since. We encourage classes from New York to make paper cranes to send back to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in remembrance.
