In December of 2010 the Hibakusha Stories team visited Brooklyn International High School and presented a program in the auditorium to the entire high school.  Speakers were Toshiko Tanaka, Setsuko Thurlow and Reiko Yamada.  Interpreters were Fumie Furman and Marie Cochrane.  Reporter Tom Robbins wrote an article for the Village Voice about his experience.

Students from around the world responded personally to the stories they heard and were moved by the resilience of the hibakusha, who are exemplars of lives dedicated to peace.  As a follow-up, several hibakusha returned to the school to make paper cranes with Erin Collins Fleishauer’s class.
